5 Dumb Ways Dads Get Arrested

Cake, cards and cuffs. Is your dad getting arrested this Father's Day?
We've previously covered the ridiculous ways moms get arrested . Now it's time to turn the tables on Pops. Count your lucky stars the next time your dad cracks a corny joke that you think should be criminal.
Here are five dumb ways dads have actually gotten arrested:
Abusive and neglectful dads. Raising a child is a test of patience. You wish your screaming baby would sit pretty and behave just for once. A few dads who desperately want their babies to "cool it" take their desire way too far and into the realm of child abuse -- like the dad who put his crying baby in a freezer and took a nap. (The baby survived.) Before you lock your toddler in a dog cage , count backwards slowly from 10 to 1.
Violent sporting event dads. A few serious sports enthusiasts take their love for the game to a violent level. From starting fights and severing fingers to beating your son for rooting for the wrong football team , always remember that if you get hot-headed at a game, you'll be the one who ends up in the penalty box -- otherwise known as jail.
Deadbeat dads. This Father's Day, give a present to the kids for a change and show them you care lawyer -- by paying child support! Don't be like the No. 1 Deadbeat Dad of All Time and rack up $1.2 million in child support. If your outstanding child support amount can rival a Powerball figure, get ready to face stiff punishments . For example, a judge might issue an order for you to stop procreating . How's that for a Father's Day present?
Extreme "helicopter" dads. Parents can be overprotective. It's their job. But some parents take their concerns too far. After the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, one dad in Texas tried to "test out" his child's school's security by telling school staffers that he'd brought a gun into the building. Needless to say, he spent some time in detention.
Drunk driving dads. If a dad is caught driving drunk on his way home, and children are in the car, he could face harsher penalties in 41 states and the District of Columbia, according to Mothers Against Drunk Driving. If your child calls 911 from the backseat to report your DUI, be thankful that your kid is more responsible than you.
Happy Father's Day! (And don't break the law!)
